ELDERS

The elder board at Grace Community serves with the Lead Pastor to make important decisions for the church. At Grace we like to say that we are 'staff led, elder protected,' this means that, while the staff and leaders of Grace have lots of autonomy to make ministry decisions, the elders are always asking the hard questions and testing whether we are in line with God's vision for the church.

The elders are a group of men that you can go to at any point with cares, concerns, and issues in your life, at Grace they are our leaders, and we treat them as such. The book of James says:"Is anyone among you sick? Let them call the elders of the church to pray over them and anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord." We take this verse seriously, and try to pray for each other regularly at Grace. The staff and elders pray each week for church members by name, when they submit connection cards.
